Lampwork, Venetian and Czech glass necklace

This seed bead necklace took so much time that is can only be called a labor of love. The inspiration was the blue lampwork bead with red dots above the tassel which is handmade by John Kulpa. I love free form peyote stitch and I have fun incorporating larger beads into the weaving as I go. The red glass bead is made in Venice; the light and dark blue ones are from India. The button that serves as a clasp is old, plucked from my Mother and Grandmother’s button box! I use various size seed beads to get the twists and turns in the weaving (and to give my eyes a break!); they are Czech or Japanese seed beads. The necklace is finished with a 2 ¾” tassel—my favorite way to embellish! This unique piece will fetch many compliments. It is 29” plus 4” of John’s Bead and tassel.   $300
